The Society for Human Rights and Environment Protection (SHEP) proudly commemorated this important day with a powerful awareness event on 25 November 2025 in Karachi — focused on empowering women and taking a united stand against gender-based violence.
Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Shaigufta Ishtiaq, Chairperson, Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Karachi, emphasized that women are excelling in leadership roles across every sector — and those in leadership must uplift, support, and protect their fellow women.

Pakistan’s Environmental Policy is based on participatory approach to achieving objectives of sustainable development through legally, administratively and technically sound institutions. The Pakistan Environmental Protection Act was enacted on 6th December 1997 to provide for the protection, conservation, rehabilitation and improvement of environment, for the prevention and control of pollution, and promotion of sustainable development.
